The easiest and quickest way to obtain a quote is to give us a call on 01952 455007 and speak with one of our customer services team. This will ensure that we have all the necessary information to provide an accurate price, and we will aim to get the quote over that same day.

Yes! In essence, the more copies you have of anything printed, the better value for money it becomes per unit. As an example, if you ordered 250 prints of an item, it would cost far less per unit than if you ordered just 50, because while the job is ‘set up’ on the machine, running an extra 200 prints wouldn’t cost five times more, but around two to three times as much (particularly with lithographic printing).

Once we have received your order in writing usually in an email, we will schedule it in and start it as soon as possible. If you require us to design and print your job, we will get on it at our earliest convenience and send PDF Proofs for you to check carefully, this is where you can make any alterations and we will send additional Proofs until you are happy for us to proceed to Print. If you have supplied the PDF artwork, we will get the job in print queue that day.

Yes. CLH Design and Print has over 35 years’ experience in the printing trade and we are more than happy to advise you.

Yes, we always send a proof via email in a PDF format for you to check carefully and we include as many proofs as is necessary to get the design exactly as you want it. Once you are happy, you will be asked to copy and paste a disclaimer back to CLH Design and Print stating that you are happy for us to proceed and send the job to print. Once this is signed, no more changes can be made and if any subsequent artwork or text amends are spotted, either during the print process or once printed, then any additional costs will be the responsibility of the client.

A high resolution PDF (Portable Document Format), ideally in a CMYK format, is generally considered the universal file for printing, as it is compatible with all professional printing and digital print devices, and design packages including Quarkxpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Canva all convert to a PDF format.

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, and is the industry standard for colour printing across the world in both digital and offset printing methods.
At CLH Design and Print, all our digital printing methods use CMYK, which is the same method used by offset or lithographic printing.

RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue and they are the primary colours from which all other colours are made. Fundamentally whilst CMYK is used for printing, RGB is used online, and that’s why it’s important that files which are going to be printed are supplied in CMYK format, to ensure that you have an accurate reproduction of your design and colours when your document is printed.

Litho printing uses plates and are generally bigger, noisy printing machines, whereas digital printing is done on printing machines that look like photocopiers.

As you might expect, every job is different. Some jobs can be printed in a matter of hours, whilst others may take a number of days to complete. In general, litho printing takes slightly longer than digital printing, and additional time must be factored in for the ink to dry properly (with digital printing the ink fuses to the paper or card and dries instantly), or if the specification requires folding, collating, binding or numbering, a specific or unusual paper stock which has to be specially ordered, or additional plates are required for a spot UV varnish or similar.

Ultimately, we will always aim to deliver within the designated time frame on the quotation, and frequently exceed the anticipated delivery date.

If you are based ‘locally’ (within 10 mile radius of Telford, Shropshire) we will most probably hand deliver, but if you are further afield, the job will probably be sent to you by courier. We only use reputable national couriers like DPD, DHL, Parcelforce and Fedex, and the cost to deliver is included in all our competitive quotations.

For all new clients we will require payment with the first order, then subsequent orders will be payment upon delivery. Most of our clients choose to pay via bank transfer (BACS) but we also accept cash or cheques if you have previously been a client.
